Trimming a Long Beard

Having a long beard can look very cool, and it can give you a very distinct look. Growing a long beard is going to take a lot of time, and it is not as simple as just letting the beard grow. While many people may think that having a long beard is simple in terms of maintenance, this is not the case. You need to do a lot of maintenance in order to make sure that the beard looks good, keeping you from having that homeless man look.

As a result, there are several things you should do in order to make sure your long beard trimming is done in the right manner. If you don’t, you could end up with a poor-looking beard.

The first thing you need to do is not forget about your neck. The beard doesn’t hide your entire neck, and your neck can be seen from the side. As a result, you will want to make sure you trim your neck under your beard, otherwise it can look quite awful. You need to make sure it looks as good as possible, and as clean cut as possible. Just because you have a long beard, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a clean cut look.

Once you have trimmed your neck, the next thing to do is to trim your beard with scissors or a trimmer. Trimming with scissors is better because you have more control and less chance that a slip of the hand is going to cause you to cut off part of your beard. Trim any hairs that are standing out, and trim the entire beard so that it looks more like one piece of solid hair, rather than a bunch of hair sticking out all over the place.

Next thing to do is to grab a piece of string and string it up around your ears and under your jaw. This will give you a good guide for trimming your beard, allowing you to see exactly where you need to cut with your beard trimmer. The nice thing about beard trimmers is that it is not going to cut too deep into the beard, usually no more than 10 millimetres at the most. Once you have the string attached, you can cut along the string, this will give you a good look for your beard. Having the string running from your ears down to the bottom of your beard is one of the best tips for trimming your beard.

Lastly, make sure you trim your face so that your moustache isn’t hanging over your mouth, and so that your face isn’t covered with unkempt hairs. Trim your cheeks, trim your moustache and your sideburns. You should keep your beard on the face trim, while letting the beard from the chin down grow long. This will give you a stylized, but dignified look for your beard. A long beard can look great, but you have to make sure it looks good by constantly maintaining it.
